It's been a long time coming
I sit and hold her hand
Been a long time coming
I still can't understand
It's been a long time coming
This disease that eats at her inside
Been a long time coming
For years it's tried to hide
It's been a long time coming
Now it's reared it's ugly head
Been a long time coming
All thru her body it has spread
It's been a long time coming
Turned her world inside out
Been a long time coming
Is this what life is all about?
It's been a long time coming
I wanna scream "This isn't fair!"
Been a long time coming
Becoming to much for her to bare
It's been a long time coming
Her life is being cut short
Been a long time coming
In advance she refuses life support
It's been a long time coming
She prepares her husband and child
Been a long time coming
Told them she loves them as she smiled
It's been a long time coming
Already made out her will
Been a long time coming
So many dreams she didn't get to fulfill
It's been a long time coming
She feels her time is drawing near
Been a long time coming
Her future's becoming crystal clear
It's been a long time coming
Doc's tried everything he can
Been a long time coming
This wasn't part of the plan
It's been a long time coming
Nothing before has prepared me for this
Been a long time coming
To cancer, I will lose my Sis

Ouch -- This brought tears to this old parson's eyes. As a clergyman I know rather mre than is good for me about death and dying ... spent too many long nights by the bedside of a dying friend. My kids lost both granfather to cancer -- long before they were born, All this has taught me that there are no easy answers, no answers at all just Hope and Love and courage which your Sis seems to have in spades---
