The violin strings with a bow of grace.
Flattery is a virtue.
The limelight shines upon his face,
A splash of sleaze drips around him.
Step by step
The dance begins with fervent strides & turns
The masquerade of this diligent scum
Enraptures the crowds around him.
Swaying on for his praise
He's the man of this ball,
Where fornication is underlying.
Smirking in the colours,
Of shady rainbows,
Painted with care, he stares.
Let these magician eyes ring marvels
And his dance cause heat to rise.
Because the blues won't be blacks until the dance is done
Our colourbilnd hero shines tonight.
And with an empowering song
And gimmicking tounges,
He dazzles the piano player.
Stride by stride, he marks his ploy,
A con man if there ever was one.
And dashing his way across the floor
He spins a knot,
And chuckles.
Round and round,
He swivels and turns,
His manhood incognito.
Charismatic ease becomes inept.
The violin dies and falls,
The lights go off in this tainted hall.
And when he smiles at me,
I cut myself.

You should start writing more. I enjoyed the movement and flow present in this poem, and the quality diction. |

have sent this to a man very much like the one you described...it's been said 'the first cut is the deepest', but each cut afterwards still adds to the pain...when will it stop?..when will I stop?
....an excellent write! |
