Think, Just For A Moment
My emotions are like a ship,
Stuck out in a sea of fury.
The bow rocks,
As each wave pounds harder,
And harder on the hull.
But waves isn't whats rocking my emotions,
It's my heart.
So think, just for a single moment,
What is the one thing you want,
But aren't completely sure you can have it?
When you think about this goal,
Does a pain grow in your side?
Do your eyes fill up with tears?
Is the oxygen removed from your lungs?
I do,
And I cry each night,
To think that I may never get to die,
With you by my side...

I was asked a similar question once...what is in your head when you sleep at night and what is the first in your mind when you wake up? It is truly painful to have that longing about someone or something and find out that it is an almost certain impossibility for me to have it. For me it was a lady that was way beyond my ken...oh well...nice work here....a sad but vivid picture of longing and its saddening impact on a fragile emotion. |
