GoodBye

Topic: goodbyepoetry

Our time has finally ended
Our dimming flame faded
There is no more need
For any sort of speech

When we first met
Everyone said it would not work
We wanted to prove them wrong
To make them eat their words

We drifted into a world
Of continuous make believe
Thinking constant quarreling
Lead to better understanding

Years passed and our bubble burst
Casual talking was no longer a must
We turned round and round
As if in a rotating kaleidescope

We tried to end our love
We tried to walk away
But no matter what happened
Our bond forced us to stay

As dishonesty and doubt
Clouded our almost dead hearts
We knew this had to end
We knew we had to part

Maybe our love was just
And experience we have in life
Maybe when we part
We'll feel so relieved inside

While our relationship has gone
As ashes blown in the wind
You will always be special
Always be unforgettable

For you have shown me much
And encouraged me to be better
To hold my head high
When people make me cry

You are the most loving person
I have ever met
And ending our love
Is truly truly sad

But it is for the better
This decision we made
And I will never regret loving you
Nor will the memories ever fade

So let's not cry
For with this last poem to you
I bid you..goodbye....

Beautiful poem. I can feel the grief in it. I too know the pain of trying to beat the odds and failing. Sometimes it feels like things never happen like they do in the stories. But don't despair! When your time comes along, it will be worth it.
Take care.
Andrew

I see the evolving of love in your words. The recognition love never dies, it just changes. So well written and a model for us all...Wisdom is worthy of its children...Goodluck...Russ
