Indian Red is the colour of vigorous, rhythmic gypsy dance
Of beating out rhythm on the floor with heavy shoes
And of the clapping of hands.
Indian Red is ragtime dance
The colour of shaking shoulders and hips.
Performed to big-band jazz.
It is the colour of classical dance
Based on conventional steps
And precise, graceful movements.
Indian Red can also be a sexually provocative dance
In which the woman suggestively removes her clothing
Exposing more and more of her body
In the bump and grind fashion of the lap-lover.
It was this colour that coaxed Tahitian girls
To swim out to passing boats in the nude
Offering themselves to the sailors.
Indian Red is indeed the Goddess of Fertility
Travelling from island to island
as a dancer, singer, athlete or sexual exhibitionist.
The enemy of Indian Red is the Christian missionary.

This is the colour of sensuality of women. The color Mother Nature wears. Feelings of wakened hormones surging. Magnificence in itself.

Oh My, I had no idea that represented all these many things. It's all been my favorite color too! I'm from Wyoming where we have square dances almost every night! But now that I'm 67......best change to pink.....little bit slower to the link!
*smiles*
This was a very interesting poem. Welcome to the home of the Happiest Poets in all the World!
