Tupac Amaru Shakur

Contributed by thuginchiq on Friday, 5th March 2004 @ 04:41:25 PM in AEST
Topic: Tributes

Tupac was a strong man
spreadin the word of the Thug Life that ppl don't understand
He had homiez but had more enemies
it was them that sent him to penitentiary
He grew up in a bad neighborhood
didn't have much to look up to, did the best that he could
His mom was a Panther and his dad wasn't there
the cops were racist and never treated him fair
Beat him for his color, didn't give him a break
arrested him for a false accusation of rape
No1 understands the pain he went thru
most don't know what it's like to live on when no1 loves you
He was a true gangsta that died a gangsta's death
he faught for his life until his last breath
He knew what it's like to grow up in poverty
he even lived out on the streets and sold drugs with his homiez
They were a bad crowd to roll with but they showed a young brother love
they helped him do what he had dreamed of
He put his feelings and experiences into words
he taught every1 bout Thug Life verse after verse
He's different than other rappers, his words are real
he doesn't rap bout shoez or rides, he tells what he feels
So to all of u that think u know him, think again
he went thru pain no man has, and continues to in HEAVEN!

Tupac was a great writer. If you take out the music and just read what he wrote it makes a strong point. I think he was one of those rare people who saw his communites inner workings, the girls/women who struggle and he saw his own faults. At times he had a vulnerable quality to him although he was a strong person. I liked your poem thank you for sharing it. Kie
