An existance of unfair tragedy,
Is that of which we live,
A scream of an immense injustice,
Is the melody to which we sing,
The pounding of an unloved heart,
Is the harmony to which we dance.
The cry of the victim, unseen,
Is that which we block out,
The plead of a homeless child,
Is that which we ignore,
The tears of another religion,
We now allow to flow.
The dream of equality,
Is the one we now forget,
The determination to fight,
Drowned by our own ignorance,
This life of pittyful hate,
Is the one we regretfully chose.

Its called "You have shown me the way"

One word..."reality". As sad as it is, your words are the very description of reality...kinda depressing but that is what it is. But on the brighter side....these are just one part of choices open to us all..there is one more route to take...at least I hope so. Anyway...a real and harsh pictorial of tragedy. |

i love the blatancy of your poem. and good for you to acknowledge such issues that most would ignore. but it's not the life that all of us chose. this poem needs a good call to action (it obviously wouldn't fit in the poem, but somehow, it should be done) to let people know that their lives don't have to be controlled by the ethnocentricity of america. one last thing though, you spelled pitiful wrong. |

It is called apathy and we didn't choose it. It was forced on us by the government and we sat back and let it happen. Until enough people are tired of the government bureacracy and stand up and fight back, it will continue. People do not choose to be downtrodden, they are forced into it.
