As I sit at the window and stare into emptiness,
I wonder.
Are you really there or am I worried over nothing?
If you are there, what will you be like?
How will it feel to hold you in my arms?
Can you feel me, feel my emotions?
Are you as proud to be mine and I would be
to have you?
Do you know my doubts?
How would I take care of you, feed you, clothe you?
And can I provide the emotional support and love
you’ll need?
I know I’m not prepared to raise someone as
helpless as you,
but I could not kill you.
You are a part of me, my flesh and blood . . . . .
would I be able to give you away?
Would you hate me for it?
I’m torn between my feelings.
If you are there, what will I do?
What should I do?
If you’re not, how could I miss something
that was never there?
