I'll try to pretend,
that you're just a friend.
That's all that you'll see,
on the outside of me.
But inside my emotions are turning,
with thoughts of you,
and my love that's burning.
I'll be your good friend,
cause you want me to be.
I won't cling to you,
like I need to do,
to keep me sane,
with thougths of you.
Instead I'll go crazy,
but I'll hide it away.
cause you don't want to handle,
your emotions that way.
I'll try to protect you,
I'll repay the debt.
I know you never mean to hurt me,
that's not the kind of thing I'd expect.
You've always tried to do right,
and make my world so bright.
I feel so bad,
cause I'm afraid,
I won't get another chance,
to make your life a happy place.
