A Chlorine Day of Wonder

Contributed by kayald on Thursday, 4th March 2004 @ 05:16:29 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

A blanket, a sleeping bag, and a wet flip-flop
A chlorine reminder that you are there
Lying between the pool and snow that won’t stop
We both know the day will end, but for now we don’t care

Falling asleep to the sound of the splashes
And the muffled crowd that cheers
You give butterfly kisses with your eyelashes
While onlookers scorn in empty jeers

Card games, music, and other peoples voices,
Surround us throughout the morning
And later we finally make our choices
And pleasure comes without any warning

“Who cares what they say?” I silently think
They don’t matter, they’ll go away.
Maybe next time I can remember to blink
And then I’ll know what I’m supposed to say

Meaningless now, a strangers arms
Wrapped around my soft skin
Smooth talking with multiplying words of charm
Of how we’re meant to meet again

No doubt concealed in my mind
That this time is the last
For as I walk away, I leave it all behind,
And it will remain lost forever in my past

I'd say fix that distance problem... if you know what you want, then go for it. distance is complex, but not the issue... i like this writing by the way... lol!! ;0)

WOW, very nice, I agree, you should try and fix that distance problem, and if it is unrealistic at this point in time, then stick it out, dont let the physical space, turn into space within your hearts.

Keep your head up,
MAC
