midnight

I tiptoe through these graveyards, these secret places in my heart, inside your palm,
Tracing my fingers along the stones, my skirt trailing through puddles of tears for people unknown,
And I write stories to these stone angels, and watch frozen memories seep from their eyes,
As I whisper your name with their voices, once again, one last time.
I lie amongst these wilted flowers, crushed velvet, and I pick a rose for you -
Deep red, each frozen drop of blood I bleed to hold you.
A hundred thousand offerings through these glass raindrops, these stories on my skin I drew,
I smile black memories, chained to your spider web; I surrender to a heart so true.
These chains that tie my ankles bind my body unto yours,
And with this knife, I sacrifice, I drink your soul, these feelings so pure,
I lick away your immortal tears to live forever, to stop you hurting any more -
This everlasting ache inside my soul, to be with you the only cure.
I worship your life, you are the god I pray to, every night
As I lie between these gravestones, with these tears of blood I cry,
You take the bullet, so gently, from between my eyes,
And silently, I worship you, until the end of time…

…midnight…
