in a car, under the stars of Texas

Topic: LovePoetry

I hope she's with me 'round this time next year;
You don't know jack about love until you hold a pretty lady dear;
I'm just thankful that she's here

to cure my blues
to cure my blues
She don't want anything,
just to hold my hand
to hold my hand
and understand!
Come in, close the door tonight---

to my delight---

The moon- I thank it!
Sleep here in my tattered blanket-
(I come to her)
Music on the stereo- we crank it!
(Where we were:
under a full moon,
singin' a tune).
I was sailing on my ship, but the storms of life sank it!

(Here we are;
And we've come so far;
Look at that star
Lucky star above the car!)

I hope she lets me go exploring
I hope she lets me go exploring

I wanna explore her contours this eve;
Such a beauty gives me something in which I can believe;
Its too early to lose out and way, way too late to grieve!

I wanna explore
each smooth curvy contour;
Hear the woman within her roar.
I wanna go deep
into her soul where silken angels creep
I wanna close my eyes and take that leap
I wanna be real
Let my Earth mama know how I feel
Love is a sweet thing, a heck of a deal

The title drew me in and made me homesick! Like Nessa said Welcome to YPDC!! Loved your poem, well written, expressed and had a lyrical feel to it. It was excellent. Can't wait to read the next one. Kie
