Upon The Open Ocean

Contributed by Cynthia on Thursday, 4th March 2004 @ 12:38:02 AM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

My heart and soul
want to be
upon the open ocean,
with not a care
in the world.

I long to be free
from this harsh,
hateful world,
I want to sail away
and be along side
the whales and dolphins.

Upon the open ocean
is where I want to be,
away from the existance
of hate among humans.

I hear and see the
same thing every day
on the news,
people getting killed,
raped and tortured.

What kind of place
is this to live?

Well, it is sad but I have taken the ostrich approach. Ever since I retired last year unless I am told I should truly listen to something I refuse to watch the news. read papers or deal with the real world. The only thing I have dealt with lately in the real world is politics and that is a nasty thing in itself. I just need to know the name of the candidate I would vote for. Then it was right back to isolation for me. I won't come up for news again until election time. LOL

You are very wise, Cynthia, dear.
I rarely read a newspaper, or listen to TV.
I don't even like to talk with my neighors if they tell bloody stories about the weak.
So I fill my mind with goodness, and as long as I'm careful what I feed my brain...then my happiness takes rein.
What a thoughful poem
you're a very good thinker, keep a happy heart and from badness refrain.
Great Wrte,
Consue
