The path crumbled beneath our feet,
Doors were slammed suddenly shut,
Lights went out. Dreams all died.
And yet...
Yet only when the path we walked upon,
Ceased to be,
Did we realise that we could walk upon the air,
Only when so many doors were closed for us,
Did we open new ones and find new pathways,
Only when there was no light,
Did we learn to see in the dark,
And when...
Only when our dreams all died,
Did we come face to face with reality,
Only when we were parted and lost,
Did we face each other for the first time in truth,
Did we see how love had freed us then,
And only when we dared to live apart,
Did we die together- and yet alone.
