Hello stranger,
The dark circles below your eyes,
Become you.
I know you,do I not?
The careworn wrinkles on your young face,
Look familiar.
Let me think,
Yes,the light reflecting from your tired,
Nephrite like iris' is kindred somehow.
I remember now,
Each wrinkle was earned, the circles under,
Those tired youthful eyes,a hard lesson.
You have aged well,
The bones in the wide closet of your horrid, Pubescence have been obscured if not, Forgotten.
Do you still cry in the night when noone sees,
While the monsters in your mind creep into,
The sanctity of your anxious prayers?
How long has it been,
Since the physical and mental anguish,
Of neverending batterings and amaroidal,
Loud words brought us together.
I have grown also,
In the shadows of your blackest nightmares,
Where the monsters, though misted, still Thrive like leeches, sucking your complacent,
Subconcious dry, while you pretend to, Understand the anger in your almost perfect,
Personage.
I lied,I have always known you,
I am the child, still cowering under the covers,
Praying for the pain to stop.
You left me,
Unsheltered,unhealed,and misunderstood.
I will never leave you,
Look in the mirror,I am here,I have survived,
I am your anger,violent and alive,look closely,
I am you.
