Baby In Blue

Words no longer come,
all I see is my blue.
Proud color
like my night owl
who comes in hushed screeches
warning against your false light.
You've left
silently stalking away
like the cat you once were.
Leaving this night
broken in it's silence.
Disturbed peace with a groan
saying "I love you baby".
If I would have known
it was to be the last time
magic was created
I would have held on longer
breathed deeper
cried harder.
Did you not notice
through my clenched sobs
that yes, I am dying
and it was your hand
assisting in my suicide?
Now I have memories
of roses with peach petals,
a feather bed that contains your smell,
pictures carrying heavy messages
that I won't carry any longer.
I talked to you yesterday,
"I need you baby"
"I love you baby"
So words are your new
weapon of choice?
"You look so good in blue-
I miss that"
Yes, my blue.
It enfolds me like the lover
you were.
I hug it in my arms,
realizing that it's your memory
which is now blue.
I can't call you baby
anymore.

So sad. I have been there and it is so hard, gosh it hurts bad. If you ever need someone to talk to let me know. Enjoyed your poem. Kie |

This was so moving! How do you wrap so very much into a poem? I can only slice off a tiny bit to get my head around before I am overwhelmed. My only criticism would be to remove the apostrophe from it's. You don't mean it is, you mean its.
