too pretty i said as i looked at him
no other as fine
nothing compares
strangely uncompromising
stubborness instilled
blood in his veins
temperature rising
boiled the coffee
and called it breakfast
is this a test, i wondered out loud
he had nothing to say
for the rest of the day
i ventured
leaning out the window
wind in my hair
half blind
i saw the ripples
of air
pebbles flying
out from under the wheels
he found pleasure
in thrill rides
and my face was dirty
when he finally had something to say

Merry,
You make me want to give up writing.
You are too good.
