when you first came in my life
i'll admit...i was unprepared
at the beach, under the stars
that first kiss cant be compared
i thought i finally found that someone
who really cared
time went on, we grew close
your the one i was with the most
cold nights in each other's arms
soon turned to subtle fights
that should have triggered the alarms
good times, only to be shadowed by bad
some of the best times ive ever had
but also some of the most sad
events that led to our end
not only did i lose a 'lover'
but i also lost my best friend
so i pick up what i got left
a broken heart, and dried tears
and hope that this pain that burns
slowly disappears
