The Life You Stole

Contributed by MoonlitAngel on Tuesday, 2nd March 2004 @ 07:07:14 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Her eyes are empty, there's nothing inside
Her life is forfeit, there's nowhere to hide
You've done it this time, she's lost it for good
And I don't think you'd change it if you could
She's bleeding you out, she's screaming for death
Tonight is the night she'll take her last breath
There is no goodbye, there's nothing to say
This was the last time you'll push her away

She only wanted to be loved
She never asked to be shoved
She's black and blue inside and out
She's sick of having to shout
You could never do the right thing
Why'd you take away her wings?

Vacant eyes and hollow heart
She feels so torn apart
She used to smile, used to laugh
Till you ripped her in half
She has nowhere else to go
With you she's so alone

You stood there so tall, you made her so small
Used everything you had to make her crawl
You never took the blame when it was due
Didn't care about anything but you
You played your games and always had to win
Drained her till there was nothing left within
You didn't even stay to watch her drown
Closed the door on her pain, so she broke down

Now you lie in the bed
You made with the dead
And all you have to show
For all that you know
Is a life that you stole
That can't be made whole

A suicide note
Can't be rewrote
Why'd you have to wait
Till it's too late
To see what you've done?
What have you won?

Now because of you, she'll never wake up
And she'll never get the chance to grow up
She needed your love, and she always will
She'll hold you close so you don't catch a chill
She'll watch you while you sleep, she always did
Because what you don't know, you can't forbid
Her eyes are still empty without your touch
She'll never rest; she loved you just too much

Oh, wow, Dee, this is GOOD . . . all capital letters intended. I think this is one of my new favorites by you. Geesh, it's annoying when you outdo yourself time after time! :P

Nice job.

Wow D, you have outdone yourself. I know that this is my favorite. I think I came back at the right moment, and I hope this masterpiece is NOT a suiside note. For you anyway.

I love you with all my heart,
Jaime
