Angelface

Contributed by angelface on Tuesday, 2nd March 2004 @ 01:03:57 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

she feels the pain of shattered dreams
and counts the endless broken promises
her tears stain her face
as her heart cries out in pain

"how did I get here
where did I go wrong
which path did I take
that left me alone"

she builds a wall so sturdy, so strong
the shattered dreams become the foundation
the bricks she lays of each dream she lost
mortared by her tears, she feels its cost

he kneels down beside her and whispers her name
reaching so gently to ease her pain
so tenderly his fingers move
as they touch her face catching a tear or two

"come with me sweet angel, take my hand
and I will teach you to love again"
she stops, she stares, she looks in his eyes
searching his soul to see where it lies

the smile in his eyes tells her its true
she found him at last and he's perfect, too
his arms so strong as he holds her tight
she can't help but melt, the feelings so right

away they go to make new dreams
their hearts have joined to become a team
he whispers to her with a kiss to the lips
"I will love you forever, I promise you this"

As a broken heart awakens within you, you allow yourself to be loved.
Move cautiously, young one as "forever" may end sooner than you desire.

I applaud your willingness to bare your soul, your heart and emotions.

As caution dictates your response to his tenderness, so does your heart direct your heart.

I wish you well in your search for "eternal love."

Yeah. I'll repeat what the previous commentator said, and add 'nice poem' onto the end. You have a positive rhyming ability, which works well in this particular instance.
Thanks for sharing.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
