If I could.

Contributed by twinkletoes on Monday, 1st March 2004 @ 11:38:01 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

I've longed to write a love song
with dreamy, endless words.
And that love song would be for you
not for any other birds.

It would be formed with loving hands
not hands that are of lust.
And would be of a thought for you
not for a piece of dust.

It would have many rainbows of colours
not an endless colour grey.
It would be of the sunny summer,
not a dreary winter's day.

I'd add a sip of brandy
for I know of that you drink.
Not spice it up with creme de menthe
I don't care what others think.

A banquet I would add to it
with silver and with plates.
And we would be the only guests
no rellies nor my mates.

I would lay down at your blessed feet
and cry an honest tear.
Then proclaim this to the world,
that you're the one my dear.

My love songs never seem to make
the sense, that I wish they would.
But I would write the ultimate love song,
if I only could.

Sometimes the best love songs are the ones that are the most honest. This is beautiful my friend and from the heart. That makes it the ultimate love song to me.

( you may borrow my dress if ya want, I know you kinda fancy it) ;o)

This was so touching..I really loved this one !This was a beautiful love poem and I think you're saying that it'll never be enough for the one you love, maybe because love is so strong and words are endless to describe the love you feel,so there's always something missing. But I truly found that everything fit perfectly here and nothing was amiss.I give you by far ~*1000*~ no wait! a ~*1001*~ stars ! :) Beautiful and touching by far,
PumpkinPie

First, thanks for your comments on SOLITARY CREATURE
I liked IF I COULD
It was the first of your poems that I acessed, and it is always a good sign when the pay off is worth the trip. Thanks for thinking it through and not just taking a hip-shot at that subject. I'll be back.
