Ugly One

That one is the ugly one
With cold hands and
small ears
Curled into massive thighs
Greasy hair hides it when
The ugly face cries
That one is the ugly one
With the battered toenails
and the rough calloused hands
And still in all her barefoot travels
through beautiful wasted lands
That one is the ugly one
With blackened welts around her wrist
Spread in slashes over blue veins
where the skin and the knife kissed.
That one is the ugly one
Sitting, soundless, the undertakers slave
Just quitting lifeless and no flowers for its grave
