STOP!

Contributed by cryingonmyporch on Wednesday, 11th September 2002 @ 01:09:47 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Did you ever think that today maybe your last day alive?
You’re last day to take a long deep refreshing breath of the world around us?
To sit and think about that one person who has just hurt you and cry because of them?
To sit and hear your favorite love song?
Did you think that the person you just talked to and annoyed the hell out of you could be their last day?
Their last day to annoy others?
Their last day to take a deep sigh and think how pathetic their life really is?
Did you ever think this could be the last day you say I love you to your mother or brother?
Your last time to walk.
Or maybe the last time the person who just smiled at you will ever see again.
And to think you never stopped to think these thoughts of mine.
Because you and I never think today maybe our last day.
We never think about the simple things in life.
And to think...
How badly we take our life for granted.
So next time you say I hate you to someone you love.
STOP and think today maybe there or your last day.

I think about this very often. And I constantly say I'm sorry to others. And I truly do mean it.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
