forgiving

Contributed by desire on Monday, 1st March 2004 @ 11:29:47 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

im sittin here in writting mode,
thoughts i need to release before i explode.
there is so much I want to express,
its like my life is just one big test.
iv spent so many years locked in the past,
but now im feeling some freedom at last.
i wonder if i was too harsh in judging the life i had to live,
i know now that in my heart i have to forgive.
i know i wont ever forget those days,
but forgiving keeps it from being a movie that plays and plays.
im sure some times she felt bad about things she had done,
and holding in all that pain helps no one.
it took me all these years to open up and let go,
and in the process im starting to grow.
i know her life wasnt all great,
im sure she didnt want her anger to be my fate.
i want to feel in my heart that she regreted those things,
and be open to the healing that forgiveness brings.
i know she was the best mom she could be,
and i now longer hold her to blame for all that happened to me.
i love her as much as i can inspite of it all,
and i no longer have up my guarded wall.
no more shame and embarrassment to hide behind anymore,
no more secrets behind a closed door.
life is good and my mind is free,
its so good to be me
i hope that where ever she is that closure sets her free,
there is no more hate inside of me.
i honestly hope that her spirit will watch over me,
now that i have set all those old ghost free.
i hope that she also forgives me to,
for not understanding at the time what she might of been going through.
but the kid in me didnt know what to do,
but now that im grown and the thing to do is just forgive and hope she does too.
so in saying all i have said and in im starting a new,
forgiving is the most clensing thing anyone can do.

Oh, this is good. Writing is one of the best ways to assess where you are in the journey. Keep up the good work.

Hei my great friend, forgiving is the most appropriate thing to do... forgetting is the divine thing to do(that's if only we can). It's good to be taught through your poetry.. it is good you know that right things to write and the right words to apply.. this is simply great.
