One sharp word
And he takes all my strength from me
One look, thats all it takes
I started off quite happy today
But now my insecurities awakes
I've always been a failure
Well, at least in my family's eyes
But I started getting stronger
Didn't let them hear my cries
I'm sorry I'm not perfect
I don't fit your family mould
A single mum, got no husband
And a bad mother I've been told
But what do you know?
You're not interested in what I'm going through
You don't phone or come round to see us
I'm really not worthy of you
I've tried opening up when you're listening
But I just get an Ummm or an Oh
But if I was one of the others
You'd be very interested to know
'Cause the others don't fail you like I do
Huh! C'mon Mum and Dad, let's get real
I'm not divorced or got loads of kids
And I don't let rip on how I feel
But one of these days I'm gonna do it
Tell you what failures you've been
And I'm telling you you're not gonna like it
It'll break you
But at least you'll be noticing me
Maybe?

I hope for a better outcome through all of this.I can't imagine having to deal with parents that dont care like you say. Hang in there! Christina |

YOU GO GIRL!! I hate when parents do that. They say they care...but they never really listen. They always try to guilt trip you and hold you back in life. Don't let it get to you. Either they'll learn to care or they don't deserve someone as strong as you are.

Hi Ali
This is very deep and insiteful, you would never guess talking to you that your parents make you feel this way. Your not a failure, you have two beautiful kids, and you have raised them on your own. I know how hard that is. You are very strong, and very brave. Just a shame your parents dont see it, but its there loss because you are a lovely person.
Really liked this poem
Love Dawny x
Ps BOP BOP LOL |

you struck a nerve with me here on this one my dad is much the same way with me but God seems to have a way of sending us people to fill in the spots that our families should be in and arent for whatever reason as time goes on you will see this to be true.Keep being the person you are and take pride in the fact your strong.
