Then lady's eyes flashed indignation sore!
His choice of Amapola seemed to feed
on disrespect of Patron Saint and more.
"You use Amapola for comparison, senor, but word means more than flower to me. Don't you know Santa Amapola is my Patron Saint? Yes, senor. She watches over and takes care of me. My father gave me that promise as a little girl. He said that whenever I'm in trouble, Santa Amapola would care for me."
"Senorita's Patron Saint is much to be revered. I'm sorry I've offended you by use of her name. Please forgive me."
"Only if you never use that name again!"
"Never again, senorita. I'll never ofend you again by use of that name."
"Good! Can we talk about something else now?"
"Most certainly. Do you still ride a horse as well as you use to?"
"Senor Huerra, I can still ride, but I've had little practice in three years."
"I remember your riding El Diablo and making him pay for his devilment. I think his flanks are still scarred by your spur marks."
