Can you believe he didn't notice me today
As I slam the cherry car door in disarray
From mine his feelings are so diverse
As I move my stickshift into first
I can't stand work,it's become a struggle
As I carelessly press the light gas pedal
She ended our friendship right then and there
As I roll my window down for some air
And school seems tedious did you know
As I turn on the the little car radio
I admit prospects with my beloved are bleak
As a sad love song blares it's way on the chart this week
Streetlights glow on the moonlit dashboard
As I sing my lungs out to every chord
The red light brings curious gazers upon I
As I tattle my emotions available to the eye
Tomorrow my car will be an euphoric oasis
Blissful content will be heard ever so joyous
And that's why it's named Mazda confessional
Because it always listens and never labels

Goodness, I can related completely! I always spend my car time in converse with the Lord---lamenting all the shortfalls in my life. I've even owned 2 Mazdas---one red and one blue. Loved them both. This is great!

Thats a great idea , to ponder in your car.
I wish I had my very own car, I'd stay in there and never come out.
A delightful piece of poetry. :) |

This poem has a glittering style about it. Your poems are so good because they are always so unalike from one to the next- that’s very hard to achieve but your opening line set the pace nicely ‘Can you believe he didn't notice me today’.
The title instantly reminded me of one my favourite bands dashboard confessional which drew me in. ;)
Your poem also illustrates the importance of the car – it really does become like an extra room in the house. A place where you can be alone to think or just feel lonely in. I feel like I can relate to this poem.. Rod

This was great. I drive a Mazda too, when I drive, which isn't often. Funny how we can remember places and times and feelings from music on the car radio. This was most imaginative. Cheers! |
