I don't get close
Don't let people inside
Don't show my emotions
My feelings I hide
When you look at me
You see empty eyes
I protect my heart
From their lies
I've been hurt
Been betrayed
I trusted them
That was the mistake I made
They say I'm closed
And call me cold
I have a dead heart
And don't fit their mold
Eventually they give up
But some still try
Want me to feel
Want me to cry
I want to scream
I want to fight
But I just can't let myself
So I run from the light

| i've been hurt before too and never really been able to trust anyone since. It is good advice to start trusting in people, I've had to try but I suggest you do it only if you're ready. A lot of emotion in this poem. I understood it to the core. :) |
