Let's Play

You're in my head
I'm in your bed
This scenario is getting old.
We'll have our fun
And when we're done
You'll leave me feeling cold.
You don't mean to be
What you mean to me
But you manage all the same.
You've made mistakes
Don't want to raise the stakes
You've turned love into a game.
A game of chance
of lust, romance
A game where you don't cry
A game you'll play
For all your days
Until the day you die.
A game for two
The players who
Are changing all the time
You'll run away
Before you long to stay
And start speaking verse in rhyme.
And when you've played
Your life away
You're all alone and sad.
The game? You lost.
But at what cost?
...The love you never had.
