I LET HER GO

Contributed by desire on Saturday, 28th February 2004 @ 10:10:05 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

AS I SIT HERE MY LIFE IS SOME HOW CHANGING,
MY PRIORITIES I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REARRANGING.
THE GHOST THAT HAUNT ME CANT HURT ME ANYMORE,
I FOUND THE KEY TO LOCK THE DOOR.
THE LITTLE GIRL THAT HID INSIDE OF ME I SET HER FREE,
BECOS SHE HOLDS THE PAIN THAT KEEPS THE PAST WITH ME.
I LOCKED HER BEHIND THE DOOR AND THREW AWAY THE KEY,
NOW HER PAIN DOESNT HAVE A HOLD ON ME.
IT WASNT EASY LEAVING HER COS SHE WAS WITH ME SO LONG,
BECAUSE THE WEAKNESS IN HER IS WHAT MADE ME STRONG.
I HAVENT ANYMORE TEARS FOR THE LITTLE GIRL WHO CRIES,
AND IF I DIDNT LET HER GO SHE WOULD BE MY DEMISE.
BECAUSE OF THE STRENGTH I GAINED FROM HER I CAN SAY,
SATAN, IN THE NAME OF JESUS I REBUKE YOU, BE ON YOUR WAY..

I would have liked to think you could have held her and loved her rather than locked her away.. but we all deal with things in our own way. Heartfelt poem.
Take Care

Very heartfelt poem! You chose some very good words to piece this together. By doing this, it is like sewing a hole in your soul ! This can be a very good way of healing. Everyone has there own ways and yours was to put some certain feelings behind. This gives you strength. Great poem, I voted a 5 for you!

i think this poem has really good imagery but the emotion seems to fade away towards the end of it, its just a thought. i thought it was really good anyways. -david

I had to vote 5 here too because after 'free' this seems to be the next in my poetic prefence, it is filled with at a point smooth imagery and at another point very rough, though heartfelt pictures of fear... a fear that only the poet can really explain... one that created a strong weakness in the mind of the poet, but one that is quite obvious and even conspiciuos at its climax... really the poet's rebuke 'in the name of Jesus' confirms how devilish the poet considers the projected 'fear' to be(cause Jesus was meant to cleanse the scenarior)... however, it makes create a scene of particularity in terms of religiousity(the christain faith being the object)... Hello Desire my dear friend, you had it made on here... I love your proud exhibit of Jesus your Lord and personal saviour... that was not just a poem... it made the whole piece a 'prayer and tesimony of a personal ordeal that is long gone'... Now DESIRE you a riddle, an enigma, that's why my friends all over here can't help but appreciate your pieces. You are a blessing to the YPDC family.. I can see your fans are growing day by day... always know that I am one of them
