Suicide
|
When life overwhelms me,
I look for an escape,
Even though it helps me handle,
It's not the road to take.
I know it makes you angry,
I hope you know I mean,
To stop what I've been doing,
It's not as easy as it seems.
I deny that it's a problem,
And say I have control,
But in my heart, I know I'm wrong,
It takes a hold of my soul.
It's sad that you don't understand,
It brings tears to my eyes,
To know that when I cut myself,
I must apologize.
I have to be forgiven,
For doing what feels real,
I wish that you would try to understand the way I feel.

I would love to see this posted in the new forum topic "cutting". It might shed some light on things for some people. I wouldn't do so without your permission, though. Very well written, I relate to it so much!!! Great job!

I think you've described a form of release that many simply don't understand. I don't understand either, but then I do things to escape that many don't understand as well.
Good job of describing your feelings.
