I Look For…

I look for honesty,
The kind and forward type.
Who tells you when their lonely,
Or when they’ve had a fright.
The kind that looks you in the eye,
And tells you what they think,
Even if it’s not what you like,
Or makes your spirits sink.

I look for strength,
For one who holds their own.
For someone who can stand up straight,
Even when they are alone.
Like this I know I’m wanted,
Not needed as a crutch.
For me this is important,
To others not so much.

I look for dedication,
To a goal beyond themselves.
Someone who is dedicated,
Will not place me on a shelf.
If my needs become their own,
Forever I will be,
A goal they seek to satisfy,
Throughout eternity.

I look for compassion,
A tender heart within,
When it comes to understanding,
This is where I would begin.
A helping hand,
A kind word,
A gentle stroke,
Whispers heard.

I look for beauty,
It’s found within a smile.
For this kind of beauty,
I would trek a hundred miles.
It would take me by the heart,
And hold me for all time
I’d be captive to its power,
So tender and sublime.

I look for all these things,
What I’ve said is true
But what I did not say,
Is that I’ve found them all in you.

What a fabulous dedication, shows the strenght that many cannot find, another great write
