I'M GLAD I MET YOU

Contributed by LADYALISHA on Friday, 27th February 2004 @ 07:17:21 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I LOST MYSELF WHEN I MET YOU,
DOING ANY AND EVERYTHING YOU ASKED ME TO.

YOU WERE MY FIRST THOUGHT WHEN I WOKE EVERYDAY,
SO IN LOVE WITH YOU I FORGOT TO PRAY.

I PUT GOD SECOND, GAVE YOU ALL MY TRUST,
NOT KNOWING THE LOVE YOU HAD FOR ME WAS NOTHING MORE THAN LUST.

SO WHEN YOU WALKED OUT MY LIFE I FELT SO ALONE,
WISHING IT WAS DREAM THAT YOU WERE GONE.

BUT THEN I THOUGHT WHAT IS ABOUT YOU I'M MISSING,
YOUR LIES, YOUR CHEATING OR MAYBE YOUR FAKE KISSING.

I SAT HERE DAYS NOT KNOWING WHICH WHY TO TURN,
YOU LEFT ME WITH SO MUCH PAIN I COULD FEEL MY HEART BURN.

THEN OUT OF THE BLUE GOD SAID TO ME,
"OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOU WILL SEE,"

"I AM THE ONE WHO LOVES YOU AND BEEN HERE ALL ALONG,
EVEN THOUGH YOU PUT ME SECOND MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS NEVER GONE",

"GIVE ME YOUR FAITH AND ALL YOUR TRUST,
AND ETERNAL HAPPIENESS WILL BE A MUST"'.

SO WHEN I SIT AND REFLECT ON ALL THE PAIN YOU PUT ME THROGH,
I WANT YOU TO KNOW I'M NOT MAD AND WANT TO THANK YOU.

BECAUSE OF YOU I AM ABLE TO SEE,
THE LOVE THAT GOD HAS ALWAYS AND WILL HAVE FOR ME.

A wonderful poem of faith,
And now your mind is safe,
because you braved the rod,
All for the love of God!

Well done.
