A Beautiful Lady

Contributed by WorthlesSanity666 on Friday, 27th February 2004 @ 02:38:40 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Death beckons and whispers
quietly in my ear.
Her sweet flowing voice calls softly,
telling me that if I follow her,
the pain will not.
It will leave.

She stands before me,
and hands me a blade.
I know what to do with it.
I slit each wrist.
My very essence
flows from the cuts.

It spills on the floor,
mixing with the dirt,
like it had mixed with my soul.
My blood was poisoned by it.
As I had poisoned
others’ lives.

I go to step towards her,
but she pulls away.
I slit once more,
she pulls away still.
Her beautiful eyes stare into mine,
they shed a single tear.
She turns & disappears.

I sink to the floor.
I weep uncontrollably with despair.
I can never do anything right,
I can’t even die correctly.
Even death did not want me,
no one ever does.

nice. i love the way you portray death as a 'beatuiful women' people see death as many things, and that is how you see it. first she invites you to come, die. then once you slit, she backs away rejecting you. leaving you, alone, sad, & and hungery for acceptance from death. good job, nice write.
