Another Today

Contributed by Hugh on Thursday, 26th February 2004 @ 08:15:45 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

What will tomorrow bring?
Living and dieing, laughing or crying,
What will come with the morning?
What tomorrow will bring is unsure for some,
But for me, I know more than I care to.
I know that it will bring pain and strife,
It will bring hate and heartbreak,
Some have the pleasure of going to bed
With the hope of a brighter tomorrow,
But I go to bed knowing
That tomorrow will be just like today.
That it’s all the same and will never change,
With the dawn my problems will be made more visible,
The pain harder to bear.
There won’t be any hope for this hopelessness,
No light in this darkness.
But I will go on. I will put on one more smile,
Put on one more mask,
To live another day while silent tears
Fall down my face and my heart breaks
A little more each second.
Some still hope for a brighter tomorrow,
But I have learned never to hope for something
You know you can’t have,
Tomorrow will only bring strife in a world such as this,
A world where children can’t see a reason to go on
And no one gets along,
Where fighting and hate
Overpower kindness and love.
So what will tomorrow bring?
For some tomorrow is always a new day,
But not for me,
For me tomorrow is just another today.

Thought provoking and it filled my mind with questions. This was excellent from the title to the last line. Kie
