Death of an Individual

Society's child awakens..
to the sound of the horn
and the thuds next door,
(the sunrise forgotten and ignored).
He chases his lusts
and he chases his wants.
(his needs forgotten and ignored).
He marches to the beat
of his mother's heart
and his father's dreams
and his boss's dictates.
(himself forgotten and ignored).
And he knows no reflection of himself.
