something restful comes awake
with wily limbs unfolding
in the twilight breath to take
hear the old man scolding
when the meadow turns to dusk
hurry home and bolt the door
see the color of the rust
looks like blood upon the floor
the old man tells his awful tales
the children all run screaming
they say he should be put in gaol
but they mistake his meaning
not to frighten but to warn
for he has seen the thing at work
he has seen the flesh all torn
as the wolfman goes beserk
with golden eyes and his hair all wild
so like a man but yet a beast
the human race he has defiled
upon another victims flesh he feasts
