Pusher Of The Heart

Contributed by Daniel_Brabble on Tuesday, 10th September 2002 @ 08:10:26 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

You play your dangerous games
blind to the consequences of
injuries you inflict
You are a pusher of the heart
A pusher destroys the body
but you destroy the soul
You lie with flitting eyelashes
With deceit of the tongue
falsified love and
irresponsible promises
Preying on the few remaining innocent
Playing God with the lives
and hearts of the vulnerable

Who declared you the sole arbiter
judge of fate and destiny
Yet you take it upon yourself
Seemingly with daily zeal
This quest to cleanse the world of those
more pure than yourself
To connivingly twist and destroy their naivety
make them cynical and heartless
like yourself
So populate the world with those like you
Make converts by the hundreds
with your debauchery
But when comes the day that you are alone
exposed for the fraud you truly are
in desperate need of assistance
you will find no one to aid you
When your entire world plummets into oblivion
and you turn beseeching eyes upon the masses
of soulless copycat players
You will find not one empathetic heart
only a swarm of the jaded

Turn your life around
while you yet have time
Because soon the day is coming
when the games will end
When you see the truth - too late
Love is all we have
Our sole redeeming trait

this is an awesome poem! i'm so tempted to send it to my ex...lol don't worry too much though...as jaded as some of us have become, we've still got faith that love is out there and besides...what goes around comes around those players will get there's eventually :-)

great write!

This is a masterful piece of poetry! Bravo! I'll admit, I've become one of those jaded souls... but my hearts still there, waiting to be uncovered.

This was great!
