Anchors and Lifelines

Sometimes i feel like a kite
with my back to the clouds
and my face to the earth,
with the wind tickling at my chest
playfully encouraging.
And sometimes i dream,
as that kite might dream,
Of flight unhindered through cloud
and bright...
Free of earth!
Free of string!
But i realize, sadly to myself,
without my string
i'd flop
and tumble
and eventually crash
and be broken.
So i sigh,
regretfully,
now comforted by my string

decent yarn . . . (sorry)
A nicely sentimental piece, with a nice image of flying. |
