You say you love me
You say you love me,
I don’t hear your words,
I don’t see your actions,
I cannot understand,
How can you say such a thing,
I lie on my bed,
Thinking about you
Still wondering how you can say that,
I thought people in love did so much more,
Spend time together,
Talked on the phone,
Anything possible,
As long as it’s with them,
Perhaps if they didn’t see each other,
As often as they’d like,
When they did get together,
Fireworks would go off,
But that doesn’t happen,
Between you and I,
You run off with your friends,
I am a second thought,
After you have your fun,
I am a back up,
In case you get bored,
You say you love me,
I do not see it,
Everything you do shows something else,
People who love each other cherish the time they have,
They spend time with each other,
Not run off somewhere else,
Yet that’s what happens,
When that rare time comes,
I don’t see a glimpse of you,
As if you hadn’t been there at all,
That’s when it hurts the most,
When I want to hold you so much,
And you go off without a word,
Couples in love don’t do that to each other,
You are afraid to say things in your own voice,
Telling me you love me or that you miss me,
Is one thing you cannot do,
If it’s your true feelings,
Then why can’t you express them,
If I feel something inside of me,
I cannot hold it in,
I have to tell the person I care for the most,
And that would be you,
You listen without response,
Just a murmur here and there,
You can’t say anything,
About feeling the same,
Written in notes or emails even,
I see what you write,
But without your voice behind it,
The words don’t mean much,
Anyone can say what they want to online,
But only true feelings can anyone say in person,
So how should I reply to all of these things,
Should I sit in the background and see what you do,
Or jump right in and let my feelings be known,
As you can see,
I am pouring out my heart,
All of my confusion,
Thinking about you,
Trying to figure out how I should feel,
I am using my brain and not my heart,
My heart is taking over and I see the choice clearly,
If you love me, I love you,
Show me you love me,
And you will see my love for you,
I don’t want to get hurt,
By opening up and being vulnerable,
But I want to so you can see,
And open up too,
I want to see who you are,
Inside and out,
Understand everything about you,
It’s all up to you,
Tell me all you are,
What you think,
Anything and everything,
And it will be love.

Farewell
I feel I have fallen into the crack between two beautiful things,
I have no idea how to get back, how to climb either side of the crevasse,
I sit here wondering if someone might find me,
I know I am alone and no one is coming.
You look down, offering your hand,
You know you cannot help those who do not want to be helped,
You ask with your eyes to see if your help is wanted,
You wait patiently, unwavering, hoping.
I cannot ask for help, I can only cry,
I know I have lost the one I seek most,
I know another is in my path that I desperately need,
I must carry on, but more importantly I must find myself.
You stand beside me now, defending me from the evils of the world,
You allow no one to pester me now in my time of need,
You are forever patient with me and my deep pain,
You comfort me from the loneliness of night.
I must go before pain creeps over us all,
I know that soon it will come and it will be because of me,
I wish to hurt no one and yet I hurt many,
I will have to leave you soon.
You do not know of my plans,
You continue your days with innocence and love of everything,
You wait for me to turn and smile at your everlasting silliness,
You never give up on me and my heart longs to stay with you.
I must go before my pain explodes over you,
I have a broken heart that I cannot let you mend,
I have no way of telling you my true feelings,
I have betrayed the one I love with my love for you.
We can never be one, you and I,
We must not come together,
We must drift apart, you and I,
We cannot be us, we are not we, I am I and you are you,
I must go before the pain swallows what I have left,
I have to retreat to run from the things that scare me most,
I must not stay here any longer,
I will tell you now and I will go.

The Drunken Poet
Mourning his broken sire who gently went
into the shrouding goodness of the night,
he clung to what he held was innocent
and to those themes that others spurned as trite.
He had unlearned it once, but now he taught
the syntax of the stories lads commend,
and with the pigments of capricious thought
covered the canvas where his boasts were penned.
indulging all the whims of words which hide
in dark associations of the mind,
he found a rhetoric which verified
the grammar where his passion was defined.
and stuffed his heart with all his sleep could see.
So while he taught his dreams to disregard
the body's fall, the body learned to be
the murderer who drank to slay the bard.
Who woke to find his words had been set free
In a bright garden where no dreams were barred.
It's been so very long
Since you held me in your arms,
Since I've felt that warmth & security
That could bring me no harm!

It's been so very long
Since I gazed into your eyes,
My love...what will become of us?
I can't continue telling lies.
It's been so very long
Since you helde in your arms,
Since I've felt that warmth & security
That could bring me no harm!

It's been so very long
Since I gazed into your eyes,
My love...what will become of us?
I can't continue telling lies.

It's been so very long
Since I felt you by my side,
But it hasn't been very long
That over you I have cried.

It's been so very long
Since it was just you & I,
And even though there's someone else
I don't want what we have to slip by.

It's been so very long
And this pain still doesn't go away,
For I feel it more & more
With each ending day!

What we had ~ didn't last for long
But the memory will last forever,
In my eyes, we did no wrong
But I'm glad we made the memory together.

It will be so very long
Until I ever feel that kind of love,
Especially since you will always remain
The only man I could think of!

It's been so very long
To feel a love that should've never been,
And how much longer will it be
Until I feel that way again?

It's been so very long
Since I felt you by my side,
But it hasn't been very long
That over you I have cried.

It's been so very long
Since it was just you & I,
And even though there's someone else
I don't want what we have to slip by.

It's been so very long
And this pain still doesn't go away,
For I feel it more & more
With each ending day!

What we had ~ didn't last for long
But the memory will last forever,
In my eyes, we did no wrong
But I'm glad we made the memory together.

It will be so very long
Until I ever feel that kind of love,
Especially since you will always remain
The only man I could think of!

It's been so very long
To feel a love that should've never been,
And how much longer will it be
Until I feel that way again?
