Lull me to sleep with pleasant dreams,
All things pure and true!
Conceal all of my tranquilities,
The thoughts of love and I.
Disguise my constant yearning plea,
Into thy voice, so sweet.
Hush the screaming, nature's call,
As the wolf howls in the night.
Dull the longing human hearts,
Let heaven soothe them all.
Let the light shine where darkness reigns,
Let hope make itself known.
Let me see thy face, once more!
Let your beauty, to me, be shown.
