Grimfaced god,
He is not a man, no.
Grimfaced god,
Doesn’t understand, no.
Grimfaced god,
Rules with iron hand, oh,
Grimfaced god reigns fire upon the land.
Marinate me with incense, lord,
For I am still quite bland,
Cleanse me down with holy water,
Prepare me now I pray dear father,
Flog my skin with thorns,
Until my flesh is torn,
Whip me ‘till I’m tender,
My fat shall soon be rendered,
Stuff me full with bread and wine,
Keep me fat until the time.
Keep my bones from being broke,
I would not want, lord,
That you choke.
Hang me up and bleed me dry,
This lamb becomes your shepherd’s pie,
Then put me in hell so I can fry,
May the smoke of my burning rise up high,
And tickle your nostrils you greedy swine.
Grimfaced god,
He is not a man, no.
Grimfaced god,
Doesn’t understand, no.
Grimfaced god,
Rules with iron hand, oh,
Grimfaced god rains fire down on all the land.

Hmmm..not quite sure what to think about this. I mean it seemed as though you were acknowledging God for his power and reign over all of us...then you put him down by calling him a greedy swine. That kind of changed my thoughts on it. So please clarify for me..were you purposely degrading him?? Or did I just read that wrong?? |

*re-reads poem* nope you didn't read it wrong. you did misinterpret though, it's written tongue-in-cheek. and i was not degrading him cause there is no 'him' to degrade.
:)
