Never learnt how to say good-bye

Years trying to hold on to the memory,
just never wanting to be the lonely one.
They tore me down to what i hate
because i couldn't say good-bye.
I wake up crying holding on to the memory
like the pillow i shared secrets with.
But i never tried to leave the past alone,
i never learnt how to say good-bye.
