HEAT OF LOVE

Contributed by lovingcritters on Tuesday, 24th February 2004 @ 09:57:11 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Young love is a flame, very pretty, bright.
Hurry, skurry, flurry, fever of excitement!
Flare up, Flame up, Fire up, Frenzy night!
Refreshing, intensifying, exciting, never stagnant!

Young love can be fickle, only light
and flickerng.
With irregularity, uncertainty, with aching.
Frequency, repetition, many times, oftness.
Never enough, again and again,
with braveness.

The heat of love for the older disciplined,
is like hot coals burning unquenchable.
Security of action, slow going, familiar, usual.
No less passionate, by any means, comfortable.
Like Frosting on a cake, covers already total!

Risen above many concerns, troubles,
life itself.
More giving, sacrificing, forgetting oneself.
Endearing, amorous glances, true feelings
of each other.
An enduring love, tested for years,
a strong anchor!

"And so it is, young
or old, a wonderful
gift from our creator!"

I just wrote something similar for my husband about the difference between real love and the kind we see in the movies. I love your outlook! Keep it coming.

The Critters Lady pens greatness
---------------------------------------------
Way back in time when I was young,
Like Critters says, Just sex was sung,
But now the time has come with love,
That has a mandate from above...

Hmmm, I love cake. Cake always has to have frosting, and I always like a little dollop of whipped cream on top. This poem is yummy! I love it.

Love you too, hugs,
Rita
