for you..

looking over this white-capped lake
memories of you
seeping back into my mind
although we are through
the wind, the waves, the rush
the lightening and the storm
freezing air, colder water
but you kept me warm
you wrapped your arms around me
yet i pulled away
i made you wait so long
until that summer day
you kissed me and i loved it
but we had to hide
anything to cover up
to my friends i lied
but every one of them could see
the love that we shared
it must have been so obvious
just how much we cared
you were my best friend forever
i could tell you anything
we knew eachother inside-out
oh, you were my king
you knew what i was thinking
even before i could
i knew what your reactions meant
like you said i never would
my phone rang every day
we would talk all night
fall asleep listening
it all felt so right
you would tell me stories
fantasies and dreams
cuddling and cabins
surreal, still it seems
but everything comes to an end
i guess mistakes were made
now with time, we've grown apart
but my love will never fade
