Fallen Wish

Shinging brightly upon a silver star
Was once a solemn vow
Laying flat upon the hood of my car
Last night I saw that star fall
Soaring through the air at the speed of light
A color trail of gold behind
Sparkling brighter then ever before
It came crashing to the earth
Once it was a great mass
Now a pebble at my feet
Steamed lifted off the ember cooling in the night air
I felt it's heat as I knelt next to it
So much power coming from the stone
I felt it grabbing at my bones
It took from me the air I breathe
And shook the ground I sat upon
It ran it's vapors through my hair
It's senses folded in my veins
Vacant hands wrapped 'round my neck
Digging for my heart
This fallen star had found it's fate
And wished to take it back
It seemed to find in me, it's will to carry on
Tried to sink deep into my flesh
The clearest night I've ever seen
Began to twist and cloud
The solemn vow that lit the skies
Began to dim inside the rain
With cooling drops splashing all around
It's light finally faded
I picked it up, held it gently in my hands
Felt it's soothing warmth
Hid it deep inside my pocket
Sang a tune as I drove on home
Star light, Star bright
Precious star I've found tonite
I wish you may, I wish you might
Spend your life with me tonight...
