Drunk driver

Topic: SadPoetry

I went to the shop and bought something today
But as I got there I looked the other way
As I turned around I turned to see
The sadest little girl staring at me

I asked whats wrong And saw a tear drop from her eye
I asked again but all she could do was cry
She took a deep breath and slowley said
Its nearly christmas day & my mum is dead

I said im sorry and tried not to get upset
I dropped all the presents I was gonna get
I couldnt believe what I had just heard
What could I say I couldnt say a word

I told the girl to come with me, she asked why
Is there something in this shop for you I can buy
She took my hand, in her grip her pain shows
She took me far and picked up a red rose

She said the her favourite, my mums I mean
She thought they were the nicest she had seen
I asked the girl can I buy this for you
She said I'll never forget your heart is true

She took the rose but before she walked away
She said theres something to you I should say
maybe this christmas my mum would be alive
If that nasty person didnt drink and drive

Please promise me this never let any friend
Drink & drive knowing there sillyness could end
A happy family like mine be torn apart
Never to let someone break another heart

Cause that second of happiness that drink may give
Takes the chance of someone having there life to live
i dont hate that person I just think its unfair
That they had a drink and somehow didnt care

And now look at me on christmas day
The one person I had was taken away
Santa is great but he couldnt give this you see
The present I want and thats my mum with me

I am sorry to hear about this. I wish people didn't drink and drive. I can remember my first car accidented but she was trying to reach for her cell phone cause it was ringing. my friend when I was in school got hit by a drink driver but this day I wish she could of mind it thought it. we was crossing the street and she was the only one that got hit and I didn't even know her name. I wish I did though.
