just like when
president kennedy was killed
i will always remember
exactly where i was the day
the twin towers were hit
and came crumbling down
and if growing up in america
used to mean growing up insecure
what does it mean to our youth now
i long for peace
it is what motivates me
i pray for peace not just
for me but for those around me
and i can't help but wonder
will the war ever cease
i doubt the world willeven be
around to see the year 2525 the way
things have turned out to be
i have to say the day i first
heard president bush say the words
'let's roll' part of me was
glad to hear we were ready
to fight for the land of the free
but war is such a sad, sad thing
on the other hand tears
welled up in my eyes when
i realized what the world
had come to and i cried out loud
is there no peace, is there no peace

hmn. I'm wondering what 'war' are you referring? The 'war' in iraq? Or the 'war' on 'terror'? I long for peace, too - and can remember the halcyon days of 1989-1990-91. *sigh* But it seems we're all at war forever now, thanks to Mr. Bush.
Good to hear your contemplations. |
