“Crying ‘bout Yesterday”

Where did she go wrong?
Why does she have to feel all this pain?
Why does it keep on coming, why doesn’t it just go away?
Months have gone and the days keep passing her by, the pain won’t let up and…
“Daddy’s little girl still crying ‘bout yesterday.”
She will call him, but he won’t answer.
She forgives him, can he forgive her?
Can’t they get past it and move on?
“Daddy’s little girl still crying ‘bout yesterday.”
The pain doesn’t end, it only gets stronger day after day.
She sits by the phone and waits for his call, every ring anticipating.
“Daddy’s little girl still crying ‘bout yesterday.”
She forgives him, can he forgive her?
Can’t they get past it and move on?
She will call him, but he won’t answer.
“Daddy’s little girl still crying ‘bout yesterday.”

I lost my Daddy once...for many many years. I will never let it happen again. Go to him and love him before it's too late. Sometimes Dad's can be stubborn and it's up to you to take the intiative.
And another quick note to ya...welcome to YPDC..I know I already welcomed ya but since I am now reading one of your poems I am doing it again :) |
