My Shadow

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Can you help me find my shadow
It's stolen so many things from me

It has my eyes
He looks into my eyes
It has my skin
He touches my skin
It has my lips
He kisses my lips

He won't look at me
He won't touch me
And he won't kiss me
Without my shadow

Have you seen my shadow
God knows what it's taken from me

It has my beauty
They gawk at my shadow's beauty
It has my smile
They stare at my shadow's smile
It has my body
They envy my shadow's body

They won't gawk at me
They won't stare at me
And they won't envy me
Without my shadow

I'm so lost without my shadow
Do I really need my shadow

It has my friends
I don't need my friends
It has my family
I don't need my family
It has my life
I don't need my life

I don't need my friends
I don't need my family
And I don't need my life
With my shadow
